Sometime – moments – define the course of a human life.

One morning, still quite young, at the edge of a field on the farm were I was born, I… sitting by a gently flowing creek… taking in the moment… Nature became as if a conscious “presence” interacting with itself. All of nature became still, clear, limpid… vibrating. The earth, the water, the trees, the leaves, the sun, the sky, the light, the birds, their songs… and I… all was one. Earth’s forms radiated, emanated, spoke of, “presence”.  Each and every form’s announced its presence, And the announcement could be felt, received, remembered. Nature was a living (interactive) sensory unit with body, mind, and consciousness.

I sensed that… all… that existed was one.
The oneness was complete… it did not need an external author.

All that was present were the authors. An almost magical script was being created and played in that moment. From that moment forward, it was the same everywhere I looked. I, a form among other forms, writing the script of existence. The “oneness”, the multitude of “presences”, the magical interpretations, became sources of reflection, courses of studies, continuous dialogues in my mind and with others. The moment contained (all) the values of existence.

Nothing was outside.
Nothing was above.
Nothing was below.

Nature was explaining itself. But, the harmony was jarred, often. People at home, at school, at church, told stories of a “God”. A “God” who, from His residence controlled people and nature. Human existence was but a passage… and nature was a space which people inhabited and made usage of until they died. Real “life” began once we had died. The words said felt like ill-informed gibberish. Nothing applied. Nothing made sense. Reality was otherwise. Nature’s forms/ presences did not present a “God”. Forms were purposes unto themselves… the whole was already in equilibrium… and nature was managing very well on its own. I had to know who was this “inserted” into nature “God”? And, what were nature’s patterns of existence?

The quest was on.
